Dr. Xiaonan Yu, post-doctoral fellow in School of Public Health, the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Dr Yu got B.S and M.S. from the Northeast Normal University, and obtained Ph.D degree from the Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. She was invited as a visiting scholar in Key Laboratory for Applied Statistics of Ministry of Education, P. R. China. She has been well trained on health psychology and public health. As an active member in both clinical and academic settings, she participated in several projects on the mental health and psychological adjustment of patients with cardiovascular disease, mammary gland disease, and HIV/AIDS. Dr. Yu has extensive experience on psychological assessment. She was involved in studies of applying standard measurements in China for the cross-cultural application, including Type D?Scale, Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale, Chinese Personality Assessment Inventory etc.. With comprehensive and cost-effective intervention, Dr. Yu has developed several?programs to promote resilience of people in adversity and empower the patients to cope with the health problems.
